Idiots

There are a lot of idiots in the world. A lot. They’re talking loudly on the train, running local government, failing to understand your basic request for a sandwich, taking teaching qualifications as ‘an easy way out’ and writing in the media…

Earlier in the week, I noticed an article covering some awards of other on the London theatre scene. The best newcomer award, went to John Hartnett. Well, it actually went to well known American actor, Josh Hartnett who recently starred in the stage adaptation of Rain Man but some journo fucked up. I can only guess it was someone who is either a)too thick to copy and paste a press release or b)knows such a woeful amount about current culture that they shouldn’t be allowed to cover such stories c)can’t be arsed to do any research. Either way, it’s a bit pathetic.

That was pretty bad, but what happened today? Look at this – from the BBC (they’re quite well respected you know) website…

I know Buck’s Fizz broke some new territory in the pop world, but I’m pretty sure it was that bloke wot did Memento that directed the Dark Knight, not an ex-Eurovision contestant (though I believe Gina G is set to direct the next instalment of the James Bond franchise…
